Exercised ISO and sold less than one year in at less than exercise
Learned a big lesson. Had no idea I had to pay AMT on the spread between strike and market at exercise. At least found that out in time to amend my return. My question is this: what happens next year for taxes? I had a strike price of 10, exercised at 40, sold at 12. So I had a loss of 28/share and 500 shares so 14k. I panicked and sold before the 1 year was up not wanting them to drop below 10 so they are disqualified. Stupid move in hindsight. Held onto everything else to wait the year at least. So how does that loss get reported next year?
