young fusion patients
hi all! I'm new to the sub but not at all new to spinal fusion life. I'm going on year ten now, as I was fused at 12y/o for severe scoliosis. anybody else in the same boat? Now that I'm starting to really be an adult, I'm realizing how little I know about the surgery I had or what I should or shouldn't do because of it. My whole life, my parents were so afraid I'd get in an accident and taken for an MRI (wild fear, btw) without them realizing I had metal implants, and now I'm learning that you can get MRI's with titanium?? lots of things like that. I guess I'm interested to see how many people are in the same boat as me, because it would be nice to have some support.
