Why is it that so much of Gen X is conservative when most of your generations music is anti-establishment?
Obviously I'm not referring to all of Gen X, simply being born at a certain time doesn't set in certain your political views, but I was searching around and it seems like Gen X is one of the most conservative generations out there. I'm not bringing my own political views into this, just curious how it happened that way, seeing as almost every mainstream band from Gen X is extremely anti-establishment and anti-capitalist. I mean, the music made by a generation usually impacts the generation after it the most (for example, gen alpha kids are growing up listening to mainly gen z musicians), but I'm just curious how Gen X ended up leaning conservative when someone Kurt Cobain was one of your biggest icons?
