looking for advice on how/where to make new friends

hello! as the title suggests i was interested in making new friends to hang out with as i don't necessarily go to rutgers (cc), but i live a short walk & drive away from campus and would like to spend my weekend nights walking around with friends. are there any spots or advice for meeting ppl? is subreddit/insta/snap any good for this sort of ask? lolol thanks in advance
