How are we choosing a nanny (newborn)?
Background: In 2 months, my husband and I will be all out of maternity/paternity leave. Baby Girl will be 5-6 months (we can stretch it a little with PTO). I am on every waitlist in the world for daycare, but at this point, I am coming to the realization that I may not get a call from any of them before we run out of time.
All that being said, I have to find some in-home care to bridge the gap. A nanny, babysitter, whatever you want to call them. I am absolutely overwhelmed with all of the options and I have no clue how to find someone I can trust! Website? Nanny service? How do I vet these people?
TLDR: I want to know how everyone found their nanny/babysitter and how you vetted them. Did you do an in person interview? Go through a service? How expensive was it?
TIA!
