Need Advice – Transmission Issues & Warranty About to Expire
Hey everyone! Proud owner of a 2018 SE here. I bought it as a Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) back in August 2021 for a steal—$20K with only 24K miles on it. Since then, I’ve driven it a lot (mostly highway miles), kept up with all maintenance, and had zero issues… until now.
Currently, the car has 83,931 miles—just 69 miles away from the end of my CPO extended warranty. Lately, I’ve been experiencing transmission slippage, jerking, and hard shifts. On top of that, about two weeks ago, I had an electrical issue with the start-stop system that actually shut my car off in the middle of the street after a red light.
I’m not sure how to proceed. I’d love to get it checked out under warranty, but by the time I can get an appointment, the warranty will likely be expired. This has me seriously considering trading it in for a newer CPO before potential major repairs start piling up.
What would you do in this situation? Should I push to get it looked at ASAP, try to get something documented before the warranty expires, or cut my losses and trade it in now? Appreciate any advice!
