Reviews are pointless because they aren't double blind?
Seller had coat listed as "little wear" and "barely worn". Arrived with a fair amount of dirt and yellowing on the collar band, inside neck/shoulder area and the edge by the buttons has a gummy black stain and yellowing. Coat has at least 10 reddish orange splatter stains on the entire front, staining on the inside cuffs. When I looked again at the photos, I can sort of see one of the stains in a photo but it's a hickory stripe coat and they kind of do eye tricks on the screen- very hard to see a discoloration that isn't larger. I messaged the seller saying I was a bit surprised at how dirty it was and asking if it'd been washed, trying to figure out how set the stains are. They responded saying they wouldn't consider it to be super dirty and that it had never been washed (coat is 8 years old) and is still stiff (it is not.)
It's been a long time since I left a less than 5 star review but I remember that the seller gave me a bad review to retaliate even tho they had no reasoning. I feel that it's fair to not give 5 stars here, how are you not even going to wash your body filth off of it before selling it? It's clearly in worse condition than they stated but if I review honestly I assume I'll get a bad review in response. So what is the deal/how do we trust this website? Am I missing something or is it really just rolling the dice and hoping for the best every time, no matter what reviews/ratings say?
