Do Pirated Save Files Work on Legal Copy?

Let's say I pirated a game (Kingdom Come Deliverence 2) and halfway I decided to buy the game because it deserved.

Now, would integrating save files inside the game folder work?

Otherwise I will buy it once I am done with the game for future playtroughs.
