Please help: bad skin reaction to carpet beetles
Long story short thought I had scabies, today found a number of carpet beetles in my room- on the window sill, my bed, my closet and clothes. Now im thinking it’s an allergic reaction to the beetles.
I have had an itch all over my body since about November. Occasionally I get pimply bumps and red patches on my skin, but the itch is also on places where there is no visible rash. Hot showers make it much worse and the itching is worse before I go to sleep and when I wake up.
I’ve figured out how I’m going to approach exterminating them but I’m wondering what to do about my skin. What are the next steps for treating the itch after attacking my apartment and clothes? I’ve tried lots of lotions while treating for what I thought was scabies, and nothing has really relieved the itch. Neither did antihistamines really. Does this ever go away? Someone was saying you have to lint roll your clothes before wearing them, and people are talking about scraping black flakes off your skin with a razor. This sounds overwhelming and I’ve really been losing my mind over this itch…
