Just looking for perspective - Anything you would do in my situation?

DoD fed and spouse to active duty military about to PCS.

Prior to the hiring freeze had applied to several DoD civilian jobs, but now that’s in a standstill. I’m keeping in contact with these recruiters about the hiring freeze. So some options are:

1. Apply to contracting / clearance jobs (In progress)

2. Apply to private companies not affiliated with DoD (In progress)

3. Go remote because federal military spouses are exempt from RTO orders (not really possible in my job but I’ve been asking around my agency anyways, and it’s not possible to apply outside my agency because of the freeze)

4. Hope the freeze gets lifted in the next few months

Seems simple but anything I’m overlooking? I know this is unprecedented territory and so many of you have unique stressful situations. Love seeing the support for us here from feds and non-feds.
