Awning windows don’t want to close?

Hello all. Our construction was completed and we move in last July. We had all new Sun windows installed. Last fall the awning windows (crank style) opened and closed perfectly. This spring, they aren’t wanting to close. The hook on the side doesn’t come in close enough to catch the lock. My husband has to take the screen out and use a screw driver to get it to close. It’s a pain. Any suggestions?
