Has anyone had a weird reaction to a dental CBCT scan?

Removed: Medical Advice

Hey guys, I recently had my first dental CBCT scan—no dental work, just the scan itself. It was a weird experience because while it was running, I actually felt the sides of my head and my temples tingling and vibrating, which I wasn’t expecting. They scanned me twice, and I felt it both times.

Later that day, I developed strong tenderness in my temples, and now, over 24 hours later, it’s still there. Biting down feels uncomfortable, and I’ve also had on-and-off headaches, pressure in my eyes, and general temple and jaw soreness.

From everything I’ve read, CBCT scans are supposed to be completely safe, and there’s no reason to believe they should cause anything like this… but I just can’t shake the feeling that this isn’t just a coincidence since it all started immediately after the scan. The fact that the tenderness is exactly where I felt the weird vibration during the scan is making me question things.

I couldn’t find much in the literature about side effects like this, so I’m mainly posting to see if anyone else has had a similar reaction. Has anyone experienced headaches, temple tenderness, or weird sensations after a CBCT scan? Would love to hear from both patients and professionals on this.
