Where to Stay in Sydney? (Lavender Bay)

Hi all! I’m planning to visit Sydney for the first time. I found a spot in Lavender Bay that seems really nice, but is that considered too far for touristy things? The reviews on the place are positive in that it’s close to the ferries, but not sure how frequently they run and if it’s too inconvenient to be on the other side of the bridge (if that makes sense).
