When you kiss someone, can you taste their mouth/saliva, or does it blend in like your own spit? What does it taste like?

I have never kissed another person, let alone made out with someone, hence the fact that I am asking this. This just appeared in my mind randomly out of curiosity. What I mean by blend in is that I think people can’t really taste their own saliva because it’s so familiar to them that it starts to become less apparent to their senses. So, what is it like?
