Update: HR Nightmare

I don’t know if I’m doing this right, but here is an update.

I want to be more specific about my job. I’m not in a sophisticated job—I work at a movie theatre. But, I do care about it because I’m close with my coworkers and I make good money that I wouldn’t get entry level anywhere else.

I ended up submitting the statement because my boss pushed me to do it. I said, along the lines of, we were friends and hung out when we were on the same level. If there were instances where we were in the same movie showtime and on different management levels, it was merely a coincidence and I don’t recall that happening.

I got a lot of conflicting advice but that’s where I ending up—toeing the line of honesty and dishonesty.

However, I think I’m going to put my two weeks in tomorrow. My boss (which there’s also confusion surrounding that: we have a hierarchy, he was my superior but not my direct boss. She is the head boss of my location) has a reputation for holding grudges and I think working here will just be uncomfortable from now on. Maybe it’s a dumb mistake but I don’t know what else to do and how things will plan out.
