Bilateral ear infection with ruptured eardrum

Hi all,

I had the flu recently which resulted in a bilateral ear infection. I went to urgent care past Saturday and got amoxicillin and bacicoline-b eardrops. I used the drops for the first 3 days but I read a lot of bad reviews about the drops online and my tinnitus got worse in my right ear which the instructions for use said to stop when you develop tinnitus. I went to the doctor again on Wednesday because my tinnitus has been driving me crazy, I almost completely lost my hearing on my right side and I also mentioned I stopped using the eardrops and asked if that was fine. They saw me that day and after further inspection told me my eardrum is ruptured and it will take up to 2 months to heal. My doctor asked me if I had drainage which I haven’t. Everything I’ve read about a ruptured eardrum says drainage is pretty much always present, which I think is odd. Is it odd? Also, my ear felt full and completely deaf the first couple of days and it still does except I feel a lot of popping in my ear now which I didn’t feel at first. Is this a good sign of healing?
