Sleep paralysis

I am Christian, and I do believe that Jesus died on the cross for our son so that we could be senseless in God’s eye. I do believe that there are demons and that there is an unseen war between good and evil. However, to get to my question, I am asking when I had sleep paralysis. I saw a demon standing over my face. I can remember every detail. Could someone try and explain this for me or was it just sleep paralysis and that’s it?
