Am I alright for just physio or should I get it fixed? Posterior Labrum Tear
First one was reaching up bouldering (2.5 years ago). Second one playing hockey I extended my sticking across my body to and someone fell onto my stick which yanked it out (4 months ago).
MRI:
FINDINGS: Labrum: There is a normal labral sulcus noted in the anterior, superior aspect of the labrum. In the posterior, inferior aspect of the labrum (5/50, 5/55), contrast extends between the labrum and overlying articular cartilage, in keeping with a small tear. No labral displacement. The labral volume posteriorly and inferiorly also appears diminutive in size.
Glenohumeral ligaments: Intact Cartilage:
Preserved Intraarticular bodies: None
Rotator cuff:
Intact Muscles: Normal muscle bulk.
AC joint: Congruent. No AC joint arthropathy.
Acromial undersurface: Flat Bones:
No suspicious bone marrow signal.
Axilla: None
IMPRESSION: Posterior labral tear as described above.
Surgery would be the arthroscopic one. But I'm a bit worried for how long it'll take to recover / if I'd be fine with a lot of physio as I only did 3 months of physio after the first dislocation.
Thanks!!
