Returning newbie player... How can I get some cash?

I've been playing E:D on and off for a good while, but I've really only ever done bounty hunting in my Vulture.

And that's fun, I enjoy it, but... It's not great for making money (at least not the bounties I can handle solo in my Vulture).

What should I be doing to make money that isn't super complicated?
