15 Days itinerary - 1st time in Japan :´)
Hello!
I would love your thoughts and comments on my possible itinerary. Is it too ambitious? am I travelling to much just for Takayama and Shirakawa Go?
Context:
Couple in their mid 30s
First time in Japan
Total time in Japan: 14 Nights
We like the cities, we don't want to miss anything key, but we also like to have enjoy experiences in more calm places. We are not interested in going to disneyland, ghibli museum or universal.
Tokyo: we arrive at 14:00, and we will spend 4 nights in Tokyo. We expect to use 1 day to go to Nikko, and the rest to know the big city.
Takayama: From Tokyo we will go to Takayama for 2 nights. We expect to arrive arround 15hs and know the town. Next day we will go to Shirakawa go, go back to Takayama and sleep there on the second night. Kyoto: From Takayama we will go to Kyoto where we will spend 4 nights. We will use 1 day to go to Nara. Osaka: From Kyoto we will go to Osaka for 2 nights.
Hakone: From Osaka we will go to Hakone where we will spend 1 night in a Ryokan to rest
Tokyo: From Hakone we will head to Tokyo to spend our last night in a Capsule Hotel and the next day get our plan back home.
Opinions? Is it too much to go to Takayama? are there better cool or calm towns to do near Tokyo and without too much traveling? Are 5 Nights enough to get a good sense of Tokyo + Nikko?
Thank you all in advance!
