Milchick is protecting Miss Huang

Okay so. My theory is that Milkshake sent Miss Huang away and essentially fired her from the severed floor to protect her.

In episode 6, Milkshake is seen repeating “grow” as a form of self-torture. We see this again in episode 9 when Mr. Drummond presses him to apologize in simpler words. Milkshake was likely sent to the break room with Drummond forcing him to apologize, similar to how Milkshake makes the innies apologize in the break room. While we don’t know if Milkshake was a Wintertide intern, he seems to have been recruited into Lumon from a young age which would explain why he tells him self to “grow up.” Its as if he is speaking to a younger version of himself.

Over the past few episodes, we’ve seen him become more resistant to Lumon and their antics as he is now seeing the flaws of the company. From the blackface Kier paintings to the performance review, he is becoming more and more radicalized against Lumon. This leads him to ultimately tell Drummond to eat shit. Him firing Miss. Huang is his way of protecting her from becoming further brainwashed on the severed floor. He makes her smash her toy as a way of 1. making her remember how Lumon took away her childhood and 2. having her behead the Kier-esque head of the person in the toy to reject Lumon.

This is his first step in rebelling against Lumon as he is trying to change the narrative. We know Cobel was a child worker and suffered the abuses of Lumon while also being stripped of credit for creating the severance chip. Milkshake wants to give Miss. Huang a chance to get out. Its also no coincidence that she is a person of color, as Milkshake, which may be further reason why he wants to look out for her.
