BF 1942 installed but nothing happens when I click play.

When I insert the disc, I get a box saying something along the lines of "Select what you want to do with...." I click on it and click the BF 1942 icon under something labled "run application". It shows a box with game options, play' uninstall, upgrade, ect. I click play and nothing happens.
