Traveling out of Chicago ORD and want to spend a couple days at the museums before flying out. Had 2 little kids. What’s the best hotel for this

Seems like ORD is on the blue line. Should I get a hotel at ORD and blue line it to the museums with the kids or should I find a hotel room near the museums and take a shuttle (if they have them) to ORD? We wouldn't want to take the bags on a subway or bus.

Any recommendations on how to make this work the best?
