What's the guess on how much work is going to be needed in Alaska?

Explaination: I'm a young fella looking to get into a trade, love to live in Alaska and ironwork seems like a sweet gig, just not seeming like you can make a steady living doing ironwork up there.

Any other recommendations of similar trades or is there something you can do when the ironwork slows down?

Or maybe I need to ditch the idea of living in Alaska, what's the next best state that has some tough, hard working lads to work alongside? Not looking to join a soft union
