Is anyone in a relationship that has survived a 'break'? 36F and 34F together 11yrs, married 8

If you have, what did it take? What was the cause? How does your relationship look now vs how it looked before the break?

You know, just....asking for a friend...who is now staying with their mom in a different state because their partner needed space apart.

I'm not really sure where else to ask this. I know, I guess it's kind of a poll, but it's as much wanting to know if it's possible. If it's worth trying. If anyone has managed to come out the other side in a better place than they were before they went in.

TL;DR Do 'breaks' always end in breakups? If not, how?
