2019 Needing Maintenance (Dealer vs Independent)
I’m here to ask the age old question of “indie shop vs Chevy dealer”. I’ve got a 2019 Chevy Colorado that had the thermostat replaced about 4 months ago. It’s starting to run high on temp again, and I was told at the time my water pump seemed to be going bad, so it may have to be replaced at some point soon. My engine is also making a groaning sound whenever the truck idles down below 1200 RPM, which I believe to be a belt issue.
Should I go back to the dealership that’s already familiar with the temperature issue and knows it may need a new water pump and could check the belts, or should I try to find a good indie shop? I hear nightmares stories about a $1000 bill just to replace a water pump, which seems insanely high.
