Liquor stores/gas stations in Albany that take passport as ID?

Basically what the title says. Moved from Vermont last month and lost my ID. I’m waiting on my NY card to come but it’s been a few weeks. I’m supposed to pick up some stuff for some friends of mine this weekend. Have any ideas? I’ve tried Stewart’s and they told me they have to scan the card and a passport won’t work.
