Did anyone else's highschool teach them biased politics in the U.S.?
Republicans bad, Democrats good. That was the narrative being taught. They'd frequently pull up tweets or posts of people who were republican sharing their opinions and the teachers would explain why their opinion was wrong and bad. When they first did the exercise I actually agreed with a Republican opinion unknowingly and ended up crumbling up my paper because I was embarrassed after the right answer was explained and finding out no one else agreed with me. I didn't share my answer and let myself get a 0 on it.
While I'm sure they mean well but it seemed like there was no choice, only an illusion of it. You couldn't debate certain things and think for yourself unless you wanted to be seen as shitty person. Do you think politics should be taught like this in school?
