Angel and Husk were the first to see Alastor’s tower, broken and worn. When they saw the police gather the remnants of the radio demon in plastic bags, they realized what had happened: Alastor was dead. Husk felt freedom for the first time in a while and saw that his former master’s death was proof there was a God after all. Meanwhile, Angel was devastated by the loss; he had lost a friend. They both were questioned by the police, though there were no clear answers for them to give. After about a week of police visits and questioning, they were left at peace.

Husk was at his bar as usual and so was Angel, drinking away the memory of Alastor’s body from his mind. Husk noticed this and stopped wiping the glass that was in his hand, placing down the rag that had been used so many times. “Do you miss him?” He said, looking at Angel with a calm and caring look.
“I do.” Angel said as he kept his attention to the shot glass that had yet to be swallowed. “I never thought someone could kill him. You’ve read the police report right?”

Husk sighed and looked to the rag. “I did. They said his powers were gone during the moment right? I thought it was impossible for him to die, but last week proved me wrong.”

“What about the autopsy? Did you see that?” Angel asked, finally chugging down the shot of whiskey and felt the burn in his throat.

“No, I didn’t. Why?”

Husk looked to him, wondering what Angel had seen on that dreaded paper. After what felt like forever, Angel looked to him and began to confess like a sinner at church. “They said that he was hacked apart AFTER the tower fell. He was still alive and whoever did this finished the job.” Angel was on the brinks of tears and Husk quickly hopped over the bar to comfort him.

Before he could try to soothe the distressed spider demon, the hotel door opened. They saw a man wearing a grey trench coat and fedora walk into the room. He sat down next to them and tapped the bar once with his gloved hand. Husk would go behind the bar once more and he got a clear sight of the man.

The man’s face was that of a human’s but his eyes were the opposite. They looked as if he hadn’t slept in days-no, WEEKS. Husk had seen many twisted things from the demon he once was enslaved to, but he never saw someone as demented as those eyes. They looked determined and craved amusement.

“Surprise me, demon.” The man said with a smile. The smile revealed a sinister force sitting with the two demons. Angel looked at the man and saw something in his coat pocket: a bottle. The man noticed his gaze and that smile grew wider. He would pull out the bottle and place it on the counter.

“My own concoction. I think you’d enjoy it, Angel.”

“How do you know my name?” Angel asked. “I never met you.”

“You’re an icon in the lust ring. Who wouldn’t remember someone like you?” The man spoke. “An Angel in Hell’s presence.”

He would pour a glass for the spider and he watched as Angel would take a gulp. It only five minutes for the effects to kick in. Angel felt his throat begin to close up, causing him to lose his breath as he fell back from his seat. Husk tried to give him the Heimlich to remove the liquid. He even tried to make him vomit the fluid, only to figure out the drink had killed him in seconds.

Husk held Angel in his arms and screamed at the top of his lungs. He felt the man place a hand on his shoulder and heard his whisper in his ear. “Don’t be such a kitten, you’ll see him soon. After all, an angel needs their wings!”

It was around 4:57 PM when the police had found Angel’s body. He was hanging on the wall with Husk’s attached to his back. Husk was nowhere to be seen, not a trace of evidence of his disappearance. On Angel’s chest was a piece of paper that said “… the belly…” The next day, Lucifer issued a citywide search for Husk, hoping to find his daughter’s killer.
