Is accounting right for the lifestyle I want?
I’d like to make a nice salary (120-150k) by at least 30 and live in a MCOL/HCOL area like NJ/Upstate NY. I’m not obsessed with spending but I’m not frugal either, I’d want to take a vacation maybe once a year out of the country and spend a bit on wants
I’m worried about accounting hours. I’ve heard big 4 accountants work 60+ hours during busy season, and big 4 experience is great to have to move forward in accounting. WLB is really important to me since I’m not in love with accounting.
Would this career be right for me? Are there other jobs that are better suited that don’t require a doctorate (can’t afford one)? I can get the hang of most things except coding/chemistry and am pretty good at learning math.
