Being around normal people your age really highlights your social inadequacy

Went to my one irl friend’s party and she said a lot of people would be there but I underestimated how many friends she had (like 15-20 people). I was the only one not part of a larger friend group though so I was the only one by myself and my friend didn’t really talk to me besides asking me every once in a while if I was having fun. I tried to hang around others at first but they just looked at me funny. At one point after I walked off somewhere for quiet, a girl came up and started making fun of me, trying to snatch my phone, but eventually she got bored or something and left me alone.

It was so surreal to see so many people my age who were so well off, even the one who was openly being rude to me. It just has me asking myself where I went wrong and why I’m not in their shoes.
