The lies never end. It's really scary.
You can read my post history for my story with a quiet bpd guy. Currently I'm really struggling to shake him irl. It's sad that going NC has made him go into high speed chase..
During our last conversation back in September, I told my guy how I hated boats/rafts. He said he did too. I knew he went boating when he was younger and he had worked in a place where he was required to sail. I didn't press the matter. One because I figured maybe something had happened to make him hate the water. Two I really wanted to get away from him. I knew the depth of his secrecy and lies during our last conversation, hence wanting to get away from him, but it still blows my mind how deep it can run.
Today a friend sent me a photo of him on a float trip with work buddies and it was dated a few months ago. It looked like one of a few trips. I knew he was lying, but the depth of the lying and the desperation to mirror people they're fixated on is psychopathic. Between this and several things he's gone and done, it's a reminder to me that he has time for his buddies, drinking and anything that doesn't require emotional closeness. A conversation to see if we could have at least remained friends, a door that has now been closed and nailed shut by me, he couldn't ever pencil in. He just wanted me to agree everything was fine and sweep his deceptive personality under the rug.
I say all this to say...Even when you think they're connecting to you/care about you, step back and proceed cautiously. I didn't end up in a relationship with him because ultimately I think he knew that I could figure him out, but that didn't save me from this pain that still leaves me crying like a little girl at times. And if you are in a relationship/considering it, play FBI agent to see how many of the facts they share are fiction they tailor for you.
