My girlfriend seems to be leaning more into boy stuff lately after using genderfluid label
My girlfriend has been going with the genderfluid label for a couple months now, she’s been trying it out after we discovered it fit her nicely, or she thought so. Recently though stuff has been changing.
When we first started talking about being genderfluid she would say how she felt ok being a girl and the boy part was more like a nice thought here and there, but she would still say she was comfortable being a girl.
Then stuff kept going and she would say how when we did stuff with her as a boy she would feel better about it than when it was as a girl. Then it kept going and she would tell me how when she thinks of herself as a boy it helps her feel more at ease with body issues she deals with and be less self conscious about herself. She also mentioned how she would ask people what good is there in being a girl and never being ok with the answers and feeling like they were shallow.
Then it took a step forward and she tried binding her chest and putting some socks in to simulate packing, and she quite liked it, and she mentions how she likes stuff that makes it seem that way. A couple days ago we were getting a bit more intimate and she mentioned to me after how she felt like a gender dysphoria with her parts, and how she’s been feeling more uncomfortable when referred to as a girl by like people online if they see a pic.
I’m trans myself (mtf) so it’s hard to not add my own bias from experiences, but I wonder if this is leaning more into a trans perspective or if this still falls under the genderfluid umbrella. She mentions how she’s not interested in transitioning, but her mind seems to be going towards boy stuff lately so I don’t know if it’s set in stone that way or not. She also mentioned that when she was younger she would doomscroll stuff about misogyny and violence and stuff like that so she thinks it could be some kind of internalised misogyny.
I would love to have some perspectives about this and like what people think. Is this still under the genderfluid umbrella or is this starting to lean more into trans territory and just discovering it?
