I’m constantly hungry
I am in my late thirties and for the past few years, I’ve become obsessed with food. I grew up skinny with a low appetite - I only ate out of necessity.
I then became a teacher and started comfort eating to deal with the stress. I quit teaching five years ago and now I’m overweight and addicted to food.
Now I am type 2 diabetic, on metformin and I am constantly hungry. Nothing but carbs fills me up but only temporarily. I tried cutting out carbs and I was starving and depressed. I tried fasting but it just makes me overeat when I break the fast. I am in debt because I keep buying food. It feels like a real addiction and I don’t know what to do. I no longer have the finances to support my habit. I’ve been to the doctor and they can’t find anything else wrong with me other than diabetes and high cholesterol.
