What unit to purchase?

I have my eye on a used Samsung blue ray player. But, I am also hearing about the 4k, and what is Atmos? I am not well versed in this, would someone help me out on what to buy? Was hoping not to spend $200+ but also don't want to waste my money on a cheap used unit either.
