Advice on Sage life?

I have a £500k starting budget and I’m considering living on a private, remote island — one of the more affordable, undeveloped ones. Would this be a good idea?

I want to live peacefully, like a sage, away from society as an author, without politics or disturbances. I’m also curious if freelancing could help sustain this lifestyle financially.

What should I know to get started, and what challenges should I expect?
