Primary mode of transport, not just for fun - advice?
My question is, if an e-scooter is your main or only form of independent transport, how do you manage the day-to-day stuff?
My commute is 12km each way 5 days a week. An eScooter would solve a lot of problems I'm having right now. Work, local shopping trips, library visits etc. I can't afford to get my car fixed yet and buses are costing me AU$200 per month and are really inconvenient. No I don't have a DUI lol. But with public transport costs, a G2 Max (or equivalent) will pay itself off in 7 months.
Nearly every Youtube scooter review I've seen are filmed in nice suburbs where the built-in anti-tamper buzzer and Apple Find My are enough for people to feel comfortable leaving their scooter outside while they shop, and all the roads are smooth and well maintained. I'm sure if their scooter gets stolen they will make another Youtube video about their experience and just buy another one. That must be nice, I'm happy for them.
The part of Australia I live in isn't Meth Central, but that is right next door, so I'm really wary about parking outside a shop for any amount of time. So what do people in my position do? Carry them inside the shop? Do shops allow that? Are there shoulder straps or backpack arrangements that don't require an athletic physique? Can we put it in the cart, tow it behind us, put the trolley or basket on the footrest?
Thanks in advance!
