Carnival Dream vs MSC Seascape with 3 Kids (ages 6,8,12)

We've been on several NCL, Carnival, and Royal over the years - but haven't been on MSC. I keep hearing either really great reviews about MSC or that it is the worst experience they have ever had.

I'm not a huge fan of Carnival - mainly due to the embarkation and debarkation disaster that it is in Galveston (haven't been out of other ports on Carnival, so I can't speak to their efficiencies). It seemed that other than the mini golf and the water park there wasn't a ton of kids focus - even after trying 3 of their ships.

We just got back from the NCL Prima - embarkation/debarkation were the best we've had on any cruise line. Food at the casual places and specialty dining were amazing - the dining room did not tickle my fancy, but almost everyone we talked to enjoyed the food (I admit I am a very basic midwest eater and not adventurous) I could see why people would LOVE the Indulge food, as it looked well prepared, just nothing that I personally care for. If anyone wants any of my personal thoughts on that ship or any others that I have been on, I'm happy to provide it.

We are looking at the Dream or the Seascape - the dream being $2,500 more for our family of 5 (ages 6-39). The Seascape looks to have some more kid centric locations to hang out on - and we cruise every December for the kids - so kid's clubs are not important to us, as this is the time of year we say YES to doing whatever the kids want to do so they don't generally go to the club.

The biggest need thing I'd love to hear about is kid friendly food (burgers, fries, cereal - basic foods) and anything good or bad about either ship, and any information on embarkation/debarkation of the MSC.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!
