Domestic travel experience
I just wanted to share my experience with you all.
I recently traveled from Denver to Tampa and back, and I had no issues at all. As usual, I traveled using my driver’s license. Keep in mind that my driver’s license has the “Not for Federal Identification” flag.
I have an approved I-130 (marriage) and am still waiting on my I-485 approval 🤞. I had a valid F1 visa when I applied for AOS; however, I paused school right after submitting my application.
I’m sharing this because I was very close to canceling my trip after reading so many comments from people who had negative experiences at airports.
My only recommendation is that if you have upcoming trips after May 1st, try to upgrade your driver’s license to one that is considered a Real ID. Also, carry your passport and copies of your AOS documents—it doesn’t hurt to have them just in case!
