ghosted after secondaries?

Is it normal to not hear back from schools after secondaries? Some schools (like ccom and pcom) have all just said nothing back to me. other schools put me on hold or rejected me (MD and DO). I did apply pretty late (October to the ones above), including in December to some DO and MD schools. I just would think that they would at least tell me I am rejected. Should I just consider April to be a done deal for interview deadlines? So basically no shot at these schools?
