Can I take the Healthcare Provider Tech AQ with experience as a lifeguard, and lifesaving/first aid/lifeguarding instructor and examiner?
I looked at the AQ at York specifically, but would love to also hear from people who've taken it elsewhere if any other school run it. (Can't find any though)
I was, as a student, a lifeguard (beach and pool), a swimming instructor, and I taught Standard First Aid, Bronze Cross, and National Lifeguard classes part time. I also hold my examiners for these classes. I wasn't just a run of the mill lifeguard. I continued this part time for a while after I began teaching.
I hold those credentials still today, although it's been a while since I've used them.
First aid is a part of the curriculum for the health care provider course, so I wonder if it might be accepted as a prerequisite. It should be noted, though, that it was mostly part time.
Anybody have any experience with this?
