Is it weird to let my little cousin rest his head on my chest

I’m 20 and my little cousin is 9. Occasionally he likes to rest his head on my chest and sometimes he’ll fall asleep on me. His dad confronted me about it saying it makes him uncomfortable and it’s inappropriate for me to let him do it. I’m gonna respect his wishes and stop my cousin from doing that but is it really a weird inappropriate thing that I don’t know about?
