Help with chronic illness

Digestion/Stomach/Bowels

Hi, im not sure if this is the right subreddit for this, but im looking for some insight for my mother in law. 4 months ago she started antibiotics for pneumonia, she contracted c diff, then had a flare up of cmv colitis. That has turned into a 3 month horror show of chronic bloody diarrhea, low hemoglobin requiring 9 blood transfusions, steroids, antiviral medications and no improvement. Her colonoscopy a few weeks ago showed the entire colon sluffing it's lining, and oozing blood. Her biopsies showed nothing but inflammation. No more evidence of cmv or c diff. She lost over 30 lbs. She has a feeding tube in and is non mobile at this point. Her Dr's are adamant about trying a medication ramacaid before a colectomy. We all want her to have a colectomy. Including the Dr's, but she is too weak and too high of a surgical risk to get it at this point. I don't know exactly what I'm looking for, but if anyone has ever had any experience with ramacaid or anything like this.
