Does the regular apple pencil works with zmodeler in this new update for zbrush for ipad?

So...
I use the free version of ZBrush for iPad, and now the app has been updated with ZModeler. In the YouTube guides, the guy says that all ZModeler functionality depends on the Apple Pencil hover feature — but this is only available on the Apple Pencil Pro, and I use the regular version.

So, has anyone tested it with the regular Pencil?
Is there any way to use ZModeler without the Pro version, or is it absolutely necessary?
