The Demons of Hell give up on trying to kill Doomguy... and try to break him psychologically instead. They construct an elaborate illusion modeled after The Good Place. Can Doomguy see through the illusion and realize he’s still in Hell?
After countless failed attempts to physically destroy the Slayer, the demons of Hell have devised a new tactic: psychological torture.
They construct an elaborate illusion modeled after The Good Place. Doomguy wakes up in a peaceful, pastel-colored utopia where he’s told he’s finally at peace and has earned his reward. Everything is perfect. There's no violence, no weapons, just eternal serenity, frozen yogurt, and friendly neighbors.
Of course, it’s all a lie. This is just another layer of Hell, carefully designed to confuse, pacify, and ultimately break him.
Can Doomguy see through the illusion and realize he’s still in Hell?
-
Assume this is Doomguy after DOOM 64, with all his canon experience and knowledge up until that point.
-
He retains his memories but is placed into the simulation unconscious and wakes up with no immediate access to weapons.
-
The demons running the simulation know they must avoid direct aggression, but subtle clues may slip through—accidental glitches, weird inconsistencies, etc.
-
Doomguy is monitored. If he catches on, the demons lose.
-
If Doomguy genuinely believes he’s in the Good Place and ceases to resist… the demons win.
