Why do people think that something newer and better should cost the same as something older?

The switch is 8 years old, why would the switch 2 cost the same? Even when it comes to games, yeah $70-$80 is a lot but the games are presumably going to be longer and better graphically. Why would something cost the same as it did 8 years ago when you’re getting a better product? Would you expect to pay the same price for a 2025 car that you did in 2017? Hell even groceries are 5x what they were 8 years ago. A $10 price increase is more than reasonable especially for a non necessity.
