Is my friend lying?

A family friend said he was in the marines in the fall/winter of 2003. He said he was in the 1st marine division, 3rd securities forces unit and also the marine raiders. He also claims he went to Ramadi and Fallujah Iraq and all of his unit was killed except him. He said he was shot and stabbed, but had a vest on, so no scars. I can't find anything to verify any of his "stories" (there are a lot). For example, he said he has 2 DD214s. He claims to have graduated boot camp, then had a "heart episode" and they told him he was too young to have a heart attack so he was discharged with an irregular heartbeat. Then he rejoined 6 months later. But at another time, he said he had a foot injury from jumping off a helicopter on to the top of a building and received an honorable discharge. I asked to see his DD214(s) and he said he didn't know where they were. He also has no photos (except one of him wearing a camouflage jacket, but his name isn't on it) and said he didn't believe in showing off his medals. He is very much about claiming to be a veteran, but won't go to the VA or help with the local VFW. Ugh. Opinions??
