Bite guard queries/problems

I recently got a mouthguard and I wanted to check every thing was okay.

So recent appt - have no dental issues gums were perfect Medical history: hEDS but this doesn’t affect my mouth as far as I know.

I got a bite guard bc teeth grinding in the night giving me clicky jaw.

I recieved the guard on Friday last week and I was just wondering 3 questions.

I wash it every night before bed with soap but I realised it has like a ‘skips’ odour. Kinda fishy. Is this normal bc my breath doesn’t smell like fish and I’ve had none to eat either since my guard. Is that the rubber like mixing with my spit idk.

Second question is it normal for it to come up slightly when swallowing it does come down after

And lastly, a weekly clean apparently is needed in retainer fluid, how long do I leave this in the solution? All day or an hour? Like I wasn’t told.
