Questions on rolling my portion of my ex spouse’s pension into my employer’s 401K

Life After Divorce

Essentially what I’m trying to do is find a loophole to gain access to a large portion of my pension funds sooner than I would be able to if I didn’t roll over at all…

If I roll the pension funds that I will be getting from my ex husband’s fund into my employer’s 401K, will they for sure do so in a lump sum? It seems to me they should as it is preventing the recipient from the opportunity to better grow those funds if they only did monthly transfers(if that’s even a thing in this roll over situation) but I’m very green here so hoping someone can help me understand what my options are to achieve my goal.

If lump sum roll over is allowed, would I still be eligible to get a loan out on those funds once rolled over into my 401K as long as my employer guidelines approve this? I am not eligible for lump sum payment straight from pension fund, should that matter but I would think my employer’s guidelines are pertinent once roll over has been completed. Maybe?

Thank you in advance for any help!
