AP/College Course Credit for ECE
Hi everyone- I’m a high school senior, and I was accepted to electrical and computer engineering at CMU. If possible, I want to graduate in 3.5 years, and I’ve taken/am going to take the following AP exams:
- Calc AB/BC (20 credits)
- Comp Sci A (12 credits)
- Physics C Mechanics (12 credits)
- Chem (10 free elective credits)
- Stats (9 free elective credits)
- Env Sci (9 free elective credits)
- Gov (9 free elective credits)
- Lit (9 free elective credits)
- Lang (9 free elective credits)
Assuming all 5s, this adds up to about 96 credits fulfilled with AP exams. 379-96 credits = 283 credits needed. Averaging 90 credits per year means I can graduate in ~3.5 years. Taking the max credits of 108/year, I can graduate in ~3 years. Is my reasoning correct?
Also, I’ve taken Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations as online concurrent enrollment at a local community college. Has anyone been able to get credit for these asynchronous online college courses?
